I studied business, majoring in accounting, at the University of Tasmania (UTAS). I graduated in the top 15% of my year and was awarded the UTAS Entrepreneurship Award (!). After graduation I completed my CPA, undertaking an additional 3 years study and mentored work experience at an accounting practice in Brisbane that specialised in the arts and creative industries. In 2018 I finished a further year of study to qualify as a registered tax agent and started my own small accounting practice Clever Sort.
Before becoming an accountant, I was a writer of poetry and short fiction. My work was shortlisted for the State Library of Queensland Young Writers Award and has been collected by the National Library of Australia. I am a passionate supporter of the arts and creative industries and take great satisfaction in helping creatives with small businesses get on top of their tax and bookkeeping.
